Notes A sphere of iron, seemingly solid and compact, is corroding before our eyes. The irregular cuts in the iron, made with a laser, do not destroy, they open. Like erosion or growth. Like nature, which manages to emerge even through the hardest material. The crystal sphere at the center becomes a metaphor for what endures within. Delicate and transparent, it stands in stark contrast to the outer shell.

The artwork is entirely handmade: from a simple sheet of metal cut, hammered, and welded by hand, to its immersion in acid, simulating the degradation of time.

It is a reflection on the contrast between appearance and essence, on the identity hidden beneath the surface, and on time as a process of revelation rather than mere consumption. In a world dominated by immediacy, this sculpture invites waiting, discovery, and instinctive curiosity. It is a call to look beyond, to move past the visible and rediscover the long-forgotten beauty of authenticity and knowledge through time and interaction.

Una sfera di ferro, apparentemente solida e compatta si sta corrodendo sotto i nostri occhi. I tagli irregolari nel ferro, tracciati con il laser non distruggono, aprono. Come erosione o crescita. Come natura che anche attraverso la materia più dura, riesce ad emergere. La sfera di cristallo, all'interno, diventa così metafora di ciò che resiste dentro. Fragile e trasparente si pone in netto contrasto con l’involucro esterno. L’opera è interamente realizzata a mano, da una semplice lamiera tagliata, battuta e saldata artigianalmente, fino all’immersione nell’acido, per simulare la degradazione del tempo.

È una riflessione sul contrasto tra apparenza e essenza, sull’identità che si cela sotto la superficie, sul tempo come processo di rivelazione e non solo di consumo. In un mondo dominato dall’immediatezza, questa scultura invita all’attesa, alla scoperta e alla curiosità istintiva. È un invito a guardare oltre, a superare il visibile per riscoprire la bellezza ormai dimenticata, dell’autenticità e della conoscenza attraverso il tempo e l’interazione.
